Trails

The Dacono Parks, Trails, and Outdoor Recreation Plan provides specific details to develop an interconnected network of trail in the city. The proposed network includes a first phase of approximately 12 miles of paved and eight miles of soft surface trails.

Legacy Trail

The first alignment of the Legacy Trail is finished. The trail includes a 10-foot wide concrete trail and a 3-foot crusher fines jogging path. The project also includes trailhead landscaping at the corner of SH-52 and Colorado Blvd.

When the full alignment in Dacono is complete, the trail will connect six subdivisions with parks and retail shops. The city annexed the former Union Pacific Railroad right of way in 2007. The St. Vrain Legacy Trail is a cooperative effort between multiple jurisdictions.
