Adam Morehead- Mayor

Dacono Mayor Adam Morehead

Adam Morehead is the 22nd Mayor of Dacono and has served as Mayor since November of 2021.  Before being elected Mayor, he served as a Dacono City Councilmember in 2020 and 2021.  As Mayor, his vision is to assist the Council with managing our rapid growth in housing and future business development, to secure future water resources, and to expand our infrastructure making Dacono a desirable and attractive community to live, work, and play.   Mayor Morehead has a 31-year background in law enforcement including 5 years as a Weld County Deputy Sheriff and his current position as a Parole Supervisor.  Adam is married to Sarah Morehead and they have two sons and one granddaughter.  They have resided in Dacono since 2016 and have lived in Weld County for 23 years. When not working, you can find Adam enjoying camping, traveling, boating, woodworking and cooking.

Danny Long

Councilmember Danny Long

Danny Long was elected to the City Council in November 2019 and reelected on November 2022. He is serving his second term. 

Kevin Plain- Mayor Pro-Tem

Councilmember Kevin Plain

Kevin Plain is the Mayor Pro-Tem of Dacono.  He was first elected in 2007 and served until 2016.  Kevin was later appointed twice to fill Council vacancies, and in 2022, he was re-elected to a full term.  He also serves on the Dacono Planning and Zoning Commission as Chairperson.  His passion is for more commercial development and additional schools in Dacono, having previously served on the building design board for Kenneth Homyak PK-8.  Kevin’s professional career spans more than 28 years in software and product operations.  He currently works for a major technology company in the Denver area.  Kevin is married to his high school sweetheart Sheila, and they have called Dacono home since 2005.  Their two adult children both live not too far away in Dacono.  Kevin’s favorite day of the year is when Dacono hosts the annual Music & Spirits festival which began in 2008.

Doris Crespo

Councilmember Doris Crespo

Doris Crespo was appointed by the City Council in June 2022 to fill a vacant seat.  She was re-elected in November 2023. 

Michelle Rogers

Michelle Rogers

Michelle Rogers was elected to the City Council in July of 2023. Michelle is a Colorado Native born and raised in Loveland.  She graduated from Loveland High School and the University of Colorado with a degree in Physiology and Biology.   Michelle started her career at Health Care Policy and Financing for the State of Colorado. She found her niche in Policy and went from the State to the US Administration on Aging and into private consulting.  Michelle has spent 20 years serving children with Autism, older adults, persons with disabilities, and American Indian/Alaska Native Elders. Her life has been dedicated to the caregivers of special populations and the supports that keep people living in their own homes.

Michelle has a big extended family and is married with two children. Her family is the most important thing in her world! They have lived in Dacono since 2017.  They love to travel and scuba dive, camp, and play all sorts of games and sports as a family.  Michelle Loves Dacono and is a champion for the city, Homyak PK-8, and the people that make up the community.

Rick Gerk
